I was very impressed by the home energy audit performed by Kyle and Nyoka at our home in Towson. Our house is 60 years old, and quite a few different remodeling projects have taken place by different contractors over the years, some with energy efficiency in mind but most without. The blower test and infrared camera revealed quite a few areas in our home that were permitting cold outdoor air to seep into the living space. Kyle came out a couple weeks later and in a single day was able to remediate the heat loss. I could tell the very next day that the house felt warmer, and I'm confident that it will be cooler in the summer when we're running the AC. I can't wait to get our next BGE bill to see the savings. Fritz, your email updates with digital photos were a great way to track the progress of the job. Every step of the way you kept us informed and stayed on top of all the issues that cropped up. That has made even the most difficult parts of this job much easier to deal with. That kind of dedication, responsibility, and commitment to seeing a job done well, totally, and completely right, should take your company far. We'd recommend you highly to anyone seeking to have work done in their homes.
My husband and I were incredibly pleased with the work done by Fritz Eisenbrandt and Smart Home Services and would not hesitate to highly recommend them to any of our friends. They took a very small 1980 master bath and turned it into a breathtaking spa like delight. They were here when they said they would be, cleaned up after themselves every day and were extremely protective of our property and furniture. Fritz's ideas for the renovation were useful, tasteful and more often than not we used his suggestions. Our office had been an unattractive catch-all that is now a very attractive office/reading room with new wooden floors, built in bookshelves and a new large window with a view of the garden and woods. Once again we used some of Fritz's ideas for a built in desk, paint color, shelving and cork board. His employees are professional and we absolutely trusted all of them with keys to the house while we were away. The very few things we needed gone over after the job was completed were accomplished immediately and satisfactorily. The Energy Audit was exciting because it turns out we were pretty energy efficient but did get some good ideas that would increase our efficiency and save us money!
The Smart home services team was wonderful. The home was always left clean and the insulation guys were very respectful and Chip was very kind.

Before the air sealing when it (the temperature outside) got down to the 20s the geothermal would not support the heat demands of the house. After air sealing the band joists the geothermal system did not pass stage two which allowed it to efficiently support the home. I kept the thermostat at 70 degrees. Air sealing made a huge improvement in the comfort of my home.
We would like to thank you for a job well done in our home. Rebecca was extremely knowledgeable and efficient in doing our evaluation. Kyle and Chip did a great job air sealing our house and cleaned up so well that we had no work to do after they were finished. When Rebecca came back to do the final evaluation, she again was efficient and gave us some more tips to make our home energy efficient. All of them were very respectful and professional. We are very pleased with all aspects of Smart Home Services and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in making their home more comfortable.
Smart Home Services was able to reduce cold air infiltration by 20% and it is noticeably warmer. The Furnace is also running much less often.
I highly recommend Smart Home Services. They have done quite a variety of work for me, from putting on exterior facings to a very thorough energy audit and tightening up (attic insulation and filling a variety of air leaks around the house). Just recently they renovated my kitchen. Plus numerous other minor projects. All are a delight to work with, and I found them quite reliable in following through with the work agreed upon. Their biggest strength is the people who actually do the work. On more than one occasion they have corrected jobs previously done by others, even some with good recommendations. One thing I particularly like is their creative problem-solving ability. I also like that they clean up well as they work. I have always been very pleased with their work, and I believe that I get a fair price. They are the ones "on-call" if my home needs emergency repairs while I am traveling. The only caveat I have is that it took them a very long time to get the energy audit/repair records to me for income tax purposes. Nevertheless, I did get them in time and they were very thorough. All in all, by far the best I have ever had.
