Fritz Eisenbrandt, President
A leader in residential energy efficiency, Fritz has established a strong reputation in the construction field since his graduation from Washington College. Fritz started his career as part of the Ryland Homes team located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where he worked as a project manager.
After working with Ryland Homes, Fritz was offered a position with Delbert Adams, Founder of ILEX Construction, who decided to start his own company. There, Fritz was afforded the opportunity to work with a company from the ground up: from a fledgling enterprise into the widely recognized and award-winning Delbert Adams Construction Group. While working as project manager, Fritz was recognized by Mid-Atlantic Builder Magazine for his years of experience in the construction industry and by the Baltimore Business Journal as one of several “People on the Move”.
Fritz is a certified BPI® Building Performance Analyst, and is dedicated to being part of the solution towards more energy-efficient housing.
Scott Kuster, Vice President of Construction
Scott Kuster oversees the construction arm of Smart Home Services. He coordinates his team and crews with the subcontractors, architects and designers and works closely with the homeowner, turning their dreams into reality. Scott is BPI certified, ensuring that he understands the relationship between all of the systems in the house and their effect on the health, comfort and efficiency of the home. Scott prepares proposals, handles day to day operations and issues on job sites. In addition, Scott builds cabinets, custom framing and trim.
Scott was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Wheaton, Maryland. As a teenager, he moved to Pennsylvania and resides there today. Scott has a passion for music, he has played since he was eleven and studied musical theory for over six years, now he teaches beginners guitar. Scott also plays in a band that he has been with for over 13 years, they have a busy schedule of live performances throughout the area. Scott is one of the key leaders in the company. He sets the example for great customer service. Please understand that he is a rock star singer first and does building on the side. His organization and communication make all of his projects a success.
Fred Eisenbrandt – Chief Operating Officer
Rebecca Rundle, LEED AP, Green Building Consultant
An experienced energy auditor, Rebecca brings a variety of talents to her work at Smart Home Services. As a certified BPI® Building Performance Analyst, Home Energy Rater and LEED AP, her credentials reflect her extensive training and knowledge in the energy efficiency field. During her many hours in the field conducting energy auditing work, she has also come face-to-face with more attic and crawlspace critters than she cares to recount.
Rebecca’s background includes a degree from U.C. Berkeley in Architecture, as well as construction leadership and education with Habitat for Humanity in Baltimore. Her design and hands-on construction experience have proven invaluable in her ongoing quest to help Maryland families improve their homes and save energy.
Kelly LaVardera – Office Manager
Kelly has excelled in office management since graduating from Towson University with a degree in Business Management in 2004. Her previous work includes operations management for Orlando Products in addition to spending time working with Baltimore-based company, UnderArmour.

Chip Kroener – Project Manager
Chip has been an independent general contractor for 22 years. He is a certified BPI® Building Performance Analyst and home inspector. His experience and his skill with tile work, carpentry and project design make him an excellent project manager. Chip customizes each project to his client’s wants and needs.
Chip is also a talented musician and father of 2 children. He has been playing the drums since he was 8 years old and has lead bands to be recognized as Baltimore’s best by The Baltimore Sun in 1986 and 1989. Chip also loves sports cars, boating, and teaching his son how to play the drums just like his dad.
