Job: Where Beauty Meets Efficiency
Description: With two teenage boys, this Lutherville family wanted a space that was sophisticated yet cozy & inviting. They turned to Elizabeth Reich with Jenkins Baer for the interior design while using Smart Home Services as their contractor for the renovations and energy improvements. Smart Homes and the interior design team worked together, from salvaging and repainting cabinets to custom designing various aspects of the home, installing gorgeous built-ins, refinishing bathrooms and more. Smart Home Services did a full energy assessment and pre-wired the home for solar. The finished product is ‘modern traditional’, a classic style which will stand the test of time.

Job: A "Sick" Basement
Description: Water damage from an unknown source was causing mold and rust in this Ruxton home. In addition, the basement walls and band joist were uninsulated, and main supports proved to be outdated.

Solution: SHS excavated the basement floor, made ceiling heights taller and poured concrete, while lowering the floor to make the space more comfortable and locking out moisture. Additionally, Smart Home Services insulated the band joist and walls, and replaced the old support posts.

Job: Phoenix Dream Home
Description: Smart Home Services remodeled this beautiful historic home in Phoenix, MD. The job consisted of new a portico on the face of the home, new roofing, a full remodeled kitchen, energy retrofit and a full energy assessment. New lighting fixtures were installed along with the existing ceiling, featuring custom molding and custom granite countertop throughout the kitchen. Job: Ruxton Remodeled
Description: This Ruxton homeowner wanted to remodel their childrens’ bathrooms and create an area for relaxing by the pool.

Solution: Smart Home Services installed custom lighting, vanities, ventilation, cabinetry, showers and tile. All plumbing, shower stalls and floors were insulated for maximum comfort and efficiency. We built a custom gazebo with Vermont slate roof, copper gutters and downspouts, and bead board ceiling detail along with custom stone and roofing to complement this beautiful home.
